Client Accounting Services Staff

Would you like to do more than just complete routine Accounting tasks?  Are you wanting the opportunity for more client interaction? Frustrated with an employer that has gotten too big to remember who you are?  Want to feel like you are challenged throughout your workday?

If you answered YES to any of these, this position was designed just for you.  BGBC CPAs and Advisors has been recognized as a Top Work Place in Indianapolis for 3 straight years, which means our workplace culture and leadership opportunities are best in class.  We are on a mission to bring solutions and opportunities to businesses and individuals.  We do not have a cookie-cutter approach to client service because we treat each client like they are our only client.

As a member of our Client Accounting Services Department, you will be an instrumental part of providing service to our clients as well as an active participant in collaboration and innovation with other team members.

Job Summary

As a member of the Client Accounting Services team you will be fostering relationships with clients from a wide variety of industries and geographic locations.  We encourage our staff to deepen this relationship with the clients by building rapport and leveraging the other services that our Firm provides.  Each client requires the delivery of various services, which means you will manage several platforms and software to get the end product or service to your client in an accurate and timely fashion.

This custom approach to client service is what makes this position different from so many in this industry.  Routine tasks such as month-end closings, preparation of financial statements, reconciliation of fixed assets, maintaining and clean-up of client accounting systems, become a part of an overall advisory relationship with your clients.

Qualifications

Must-haves: two years’ experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, understanding of cash basis and accrual basis financial statements, strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and 10-key calculator, strong problem solving skills, ability to stay organized and prioritize tasks, commitment to being honest and trustworthy, excellent written and verbal communication, high attention to detail and accuracy, ability to adapt to new technologies and processes, and have a mindset open to learning new things and collaborating with others.

Nice-to-haves: four year degree in business, accounting or related field, experience working with QuickBooks online and/or desktop, exposure to other accounting support platforms such as Bill.com, Expensify, and Gusto.

What’s in it for you?

You will be joining a firm that values each member’s contribution to the service we provide our clients.  You will not get lost in the shuffle but instead be an integral part of the department’s strategies to increase value for the overall Firm.  When you begin getting to know the BGBC team, you will feel the rugged individualism that we each bring to the table, but also the almost palpable family feeling that runs throughout our office.

We offer a competitive salary and the associated benefits such as health, dental, vision, etc.  You will work one-on-one with a Coach that will help you set goals and establish measurable steps to achieve those goals.  Each performance year will present an opportunity for merit increases as well as bonus potential.  BGBC is not looking to just fill an open position, but add a valuable member to our family who wants to exceed his or her career aspirations.
